Exercise 2 — The Art of Hearing God Workshop

Source of Decision Audit

Instructions

Think about your last five meaningful decisions.

These should be real leadership decisions—not small or routine choices.

For each one, identify the primary driver behind the decision. Be honest—this is for personal reflection only.

Consider decisions like:

  • A staffing decision
  • A direction you set for your church
  • How you handled a difficult situation

And perhaps one or two personal:

  • Something related to your time, priorities, or family
  • Something God may have been prompting you about

For each one, ask: What was the primary driver?

Discernment is not just hearing God.
